The inauguration program started with Ganesh Vandana and lighting of lamps. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that before 2014, Kanpur railway stations were known for their dirtiness.
People used to say that if there is no dirt at the station, then where else will it be. But, in the last 10 years, India's identity has changed in the whole world. Now railway stations are being developed as world class. Govindpuri station is also a part of it. He said that before 2014, we all used to get stuck at the railway gates.
We used to sit on dharna at Shanti Nagar crossing. Now that is a thing of the past. Satish Mahana said that soon Kanpur railway station will also shine like railway stations in foreign countries.
He further said that the country's forces had strong capabilities earlier too but due to lack of political will, they were unable to take action.
Now the Prime Minister has shown that this is the new India by giving free hand to the army against terrorism. From the surgical strike against terrorism to Operation Sindoor, all have become the identity of the new India.
Operation Sindoor dominated the inauguration program of Govindpuri Railway Station. From the entry gate of the station to the pandal and the entire premises, hoardings depicting the bravery of the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor were put up.
A glimpse of patriotism was also seen in cultural programs. MP Ramesh Awasthi, Devendra Singh Bhole, Minister of State Pratibha Shukla, Mayor Pramila Pandey, MLA Surendra Maithani, Rasulabad MLA Poonam Sankhwar, MLC Arun Pathak, District Panchayat President Swapnil Varun, BJP District President North Anil Dixit, South Shivram Singh, former MLA Ajay Kapoor, Raghunandan Bhadauria, BJP Councilor Party Leader Naveen Pandit etc. were present as guests in the program.
Women run the station

These facilities will be available at the station
Executive lounge, cafeteria, modern facade lighting, circulating area, ticket counter, waiting hall, dormitory and retiring room, the division's widest foot overbridge, large vehicle parking area, station corridor, facilities for the disabled, attractive paintings on the walls.
Lifts and escalators are also to be installed at Govindpuri so that the elderly do not face any problem in going from the foot overbridge to the platform. This work has not been completed yet.
Development done under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
103 railway stations across the country have been selected under the 'Amrit Bharat Station Yojana', which are being redeveloped. Govindpuri station is also one of them. The aim of this scheme is not only to modernize the railway stations but also to provide a better experience to the passengers.
People of the area will get benefit
With the opening of this station, lakhs of people of Govind Nagar, Juhi, Barra and surrounding areas will get direct benefit. They will no longer have to go to the Central Station for long distance trains.
This will save both time and money. This new look of Govindpuri Railway Station is an example not only for Kanpur but for the entire North Central Railway. This station will emerge as a major railway hub in the coming times and will become a new center of convenience for the local people.
