News - (property knowledge). Lack of complete legal knowledge about property rights often becomes the cause of disputes. Not only father's, but there are often fights over grandfather's property (property disputes).

There is a clear provision in the law about the rights of a grandson on his grandfather's property. Many people are unaware that the grandfather's property can be of different types. Know the legal provisions regarding this in the news.

What is the right of grandfather on his self-acquired property?

Till now you must have heard that the grandson has full right on grandfather's property. But the court has denied this and said that if the grandfather's property is self-earned then the grandson has no right on it.

In this, it is the grandfather's wish to give his property (self-acquired property) to whomever he wants and not to give it to whomever he wants.

Right to property in case of grandfather's death without making a will-

If the grandfather's property is self-earned and he dies without making a will (property will rights) then the first class legal heirs will have the right over this property.

These heirs include wife, son and daughter. If the grandson's father is alive then the grandson cannot claim his share in his grandfather's property (property rights).

The son gets his rights through his father.

The property inherited from ancestors is ancestral property. It is transferred from great grandfather to grandfather and grandfather to father and then through father to grandson.

The provisions of ancestral property rights are different from self-acquired property. Ancestral property has joint rights while self-acquired property has single rights.

How much right over ancestral property -

The grandson has a legal right on ancestral property just like the father or grandfather has on ancestral property inherited from their ancestors (ancestral property news).

Disputes over this property can go to the civil court, where it is settled. However, it is better to take the help of legal experts in property disputes.
