Jaipur Metro News: Metro line will be laid in Jaipur, 36 new stations will be built, route will be 42 km long

Jaipur Metro: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved the detailed project report of Jaipur Metro Phase-2. Now this report has been sent to the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under the Metro Rail Policy 2017, so that it can be approved from there.

As soon as the central government approves this plan, the construction work of Metro Phase-2 will be started in Jaipur. Recall that the announcement to start the work of Jaipur Metro Phase-2 has already been made in the state budget 2025-26.

Will go from Todi turn to Prahladpura

The Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project will be built from north to south of the city, which will go from Todi Mor to Prahladpura. The length of this route will be about 42.80 km and a total of 36 stations will be built in it. 

Out of these, 34 stations will be built above ground and 2 stations will be built underground. This new metro route will connect the main residential areas, business areas, schools-colleges, and industrial areas like VKI and Sitapura. 

There is also a proposal to build an underground metro station under the new terminal of the airport in this route, so that there can be a direct metro connection from the airport.

When Phase-2 is completed, important places in Jaipur like Tonk Road, Vidyadhar Nagar, Inter-State Bus Terminal, Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Sawai Mansingh Stadium, and Collectorate will also get direct metro facility. This route of Jaipur Metro Phase-2 will prove to be very important for the transportation of the city. 

This will not only make the travel of the people of Jaipur easier, but will also increase the economy and investment opportunities of the city. 

Metro Phase-2 work will be done by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation, a new company of the state and central government. This company will oversee all the metro projects of Jaipur.

The total cost of Phase-2 is approximately Rs 12,260 crore. The Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank have agreed to provide financial assistance for this project.
