In this report it has been told that 20 such apps have been found on Google Play Store which can prove to be dangerous for the users.
Some fake apps like cryptocurrency wallets are stealing sensitive user data through phishing attacks. These apps are so dangerous that they can also cause financial loss to you.
Cyble Research and Intelligence Labs report states that these fake apps downloaded from Google Play Store can not only cause you financial loss but can also steal your personal data from your device.
Control in the hands of hackers
Fake apps like PancakeSwap, SushiSwap, Raydium and Hyperliquid are targeting DeFi wallet users as a phishing scam. As soon as you download these apps on your phone, these apps ask you to enter a 12-word recovery phrase. After entering the phrase, hackers gain access to the wallet and empty the account.
These apps are being spread through developer accounts associated with gaming and video editing tools. These apps hide phishing URLs in the privacy policy and then copy the apps which look exactly like the original apps and make them available, leaving users confused as to which app is real and which is fake.
Uninstall these apps from your phone
