Haryana News : The Haryana government has given a big and good news for the children of poor and needy families. Now all the children of poor BPL (below poverty line) families of the state will get free education in private schools.
This scheme is being run under the Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009. Under this, 25% seats in class 1 and pre-primary classes (such as nursery, LKG, UKG) in every recognized private school have been reserved for poor children.
The government has ordered all private schools to follow this law completely. If any school does not do so, strict action will be taken against it. This scheme is for those children who are economically weak, are affected by HIV, have special needs or are children of soldiers martyred in war or widowed women.
Application date extended
Earlier the last date to apply under this scheme was 21 April 2025 but now it has been extended to 25 April 2025. That is, those who have not applied till now still have a chance. No application will be accepted after 25 April.
Where and how to apply?
The Haryana government has started an online portal named "134-A Ujjwal Portal" where applications can be made. Through this portal, poor families can enroll their children in any nearby private school. For this, you will have to keep some important documents ready.

- Aadhaar card of child
- Passport size photo of the child
- Family ID (Family Identity Card)
- Mother or father's mobile number
- A valid email id
- Signature of mother or father
In which class will the admission be done?
Under this scheme, admission will be given only in Nursery, LKG, UKG and Grade 1. That is, you can apply only if your child is eligible to study in these classes.
How will you get the benefit of the scheme?
If your child is selected, he/she will get free admission in any recognized private school nearby. School fees, study expenses and other facilities will be borne by the government. This will enable children from poor families to get good and quality education.
